Our company

A forward thinking farm with old traditions

Morals, values, age old practices and traditions guide our everyday lifestyle. While we may all have smart phones in our pockets, we do the same work our family did a 100 years ago.

We still swing an axe to cut our wood, and harvest our eggs by hand. We practice organic cultivation and sustainable practices, so we’ll leave behind nothing than our memories. We protect our traditions by practicing them, and invite you to practice them with us.

Why we do

What we Do

What we do, isn’t glamorous. In fact, it’s downright dirty. At the end of each day every member of the team is covered in dirt, mud, or both. We’re tired, hungry, and sometimes wonder why we do what we do. But every morning when we wake up and see the beauty and prosperity outside our door, we remember why. We do this because we love it. We hope to inspire a new generation of farmers and individuals who know the importance of sustainability, and preserving the earth’s natural beauty. We do this, because it’s who we are.

Sustainable Agriculture

Why Sustainable?

For every tree we chop down, we plant a new one in its place. We farm Alder trees because they’re one of the few tree species that increase Nitrogen content in the soil providing a rich forest floor for life to prosper. We treat our chickens like family, compost, never use single use plastics, and never spray pesticides on the farm. We know the importance of what we do, and we hope to show others that they can do it too. The earth depends on us, and we depend on the earth.

We've got something for Everyone

Where we're
Going in 2020

LBCF is hoping for big changes! We are currently seeking funding to build an arena on the farm to allow us to start a recreational and therapeutic equine program. We hope to begin offering lessons in spring 2020, and summer camps soon after. We anticipate offering lessons in eventing, jumping, and equestrian vaulting. If you’re interested in seeing what you can do to help, please contact us, we’d love to hear from you!

What People are Saying

We had one of our most memorable family vacations at the Benders. Our girls who are 13 and 11 had never experienced “camping” and loved everything about the RV and property. We enjoyed going on morning walks around the property and camp fires in the evening.

If i could give them more than 5 stars I would! Don’t let a trailer scare you, its big and roomy. But the property it sits on is beyond amazing. Felt like a trip into the rain forest. We wish we had more time to spend just exploring the area. Truly beautiful.

Very special experience for a couple. If you like quite mornings and nights, animal sounds and be around many trees, then this is the place for you. Thank you so much.
